In addition to the Stage Committee, there are also a number of subcommittees which organise a variety of activities for stagiaires, from conferences to job fairs, sports to music and much more inbetween.

Subcommittees are very much independent in their work but receive funding and support from the Stage Committee.

Solidarity Sub-CommitteeThe Solidarity/Solidarité Sub-Committee is an association of European Commission stagiaires working on a voluntary basis, with the aim to raise awareness on social and humanitarian issues. Solidarity seeks to serve as a learning tool, providing its members with skills and competences that they can subsequently apply in their future experiences, regardless of their specific fields and interests.Solidarity encourages the exchange of ideas, information and experiences from stagiaires of diverse cultural backgrounds. Art Careers - Job Fair

The Career Committees objective is to help identify career opportunities for trainees during their Traineeship Program, to inform them of employers needs and requirements, and to help match trainees with potential employers. We organise events throughout the traineeship program, such as the CV writing, interview and career guidance workshops. Our main event is the Jobfair.

The 2012 Communications subcommittee coordinates the ESJ, European Stagiaires Blog, and the Who's Who guide.

Cine Club

We love cinema and we would like to share our passion with you! The ciné club screenings take place on Tuesdays at the Madou Auditorium around 7pm. We aim to show interesting, challenging, less known films, which should not only entertain, but also raise questions and make viewers think. The movies will be advertised every week at events page on www.stagecommittee.org.Hope you come and share some nice movies with us.

Contrary to popular belief, the Beer & Wine Committee is NOT the Alcoholics Anonymous of the Commission stagiaires ;) We are simply a group of young people who enjoy the finer things in life, and who know that an optimal amount of alcohol lubricates social relations and helps us to forget the many woes of our difficult stagiaire lives Who could possibly not identify with our philosophy?! Cheers!

Do you enjoy music? Do you sing or play an instrument? Are you looking for a friendly, informal environment to practice, play music and have fun with other stagiaires? Then come along to the music subcommittee! The aim of this subcommittee is to bring people together who enjoy making music - singing as well as playing an instrument - and to use their passion to set up a choir and an orchestra with the ultimate aim of organising a charity concert at the end of the traineeship.

Concerning sports, the 2011 Summer Stage has the following SubCommittees:Football / BasketballThe Football/Basketball Sub-Committee is responsible for the organisation of football and basketball activities for the summer stagiaires 2011 of the European Commission.The main activity that will be organized by the subcommittee is the renowned ING ECS Football league. In this league, a total of 15 football teams compete for the highly contested title of champions and for eternal glory. Be part of the biggest sports tournaments of this year's summer stage!More information about the league can be found at:www.ecsfootballtournament.comTennisTennis is a wonderful sport to take up not only because it's good exercise, but because it also provides challenges and improves both overall coordination and hand-eye coordination. There are a few basic rules to consider, but the Tennis Subcommittee offers a perfect opportunity to practice this sport or to learn how to play it. It is also unique chance to meet trainees from different EU Member states and Directorates-Generals and to spend time together in a great atmosphere. The Tennis Subcommittee creates a perfect condition for weekly practice in high quality venue and tennis coaching by advanced players. If you want to share your interest in tennis with others join the Tennis Subcommittee!YogaThe Yoga subcommittee meets once a week to practice Ashtanga yoga, a dynamic and energetic style of yoga that is fast-paced and focuses on building strength and flexibilty. Classes are taught in a private studio by a professional instructor and open to all. Horse RidingAs the name suggest, we are a bunch of people who love horses and horse-riding, who decided to carry on with their hobby even during their stage in Brussels.What do we do?We take weekly horse-riding lessons in great stables just outside Brussels and we are also planning a weekend horse-trekking adventure on the Belgian coast after the Christmas vacation. Proficiency levels range from 'first-time-sitting-on-a-horse' enthusiasts to people with competition experience in dressage.Bridge
